Mission Statement

SharpCuts: Genre Film Festival focuses on celebrating short films in the categories of Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, and Action. Partnered with GenreCon, a fan-focused convention held annually in Guelph, Ontario.

Festival Introduction

In 2012, SharpCuts returns for its sixth year in Guelph, Ontario with a brand new feel. The event is an epicenter for local, national, and international filmmakers who focus on Genre Specific content to convene in appreciation of their craft. This year's roster will include short films in the genres of Horror, Fantasy, Sci-fi, and action as well as the Filmmaker Gala, Panels, and Awards Banquet. Returning for its second year, ScharpCuts will also feature filmmakers delving into the exploding world of Web Series production. Previously, SharpCuts has hosted illustrious Canadian talent such as musician Jeff Bird (Cowboy Junkies) and actors Art Hindle (Beverly Hills 90210, ENG, Paradise Falls and Canadian Case File) and Laura Bertram (Ready or Not, Andromeda, Robson Arms).
